Big bream around Kawana

Hi there anglers,
The New moon is now behind us and the week following that should hold some good fishing times. The weather prediction isn’t favorable for offshore fishing this weekend but the predictions haven’t been 100% accurate of late. Look out for the daily up to date reports on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/KawanaBaitAndTackle
There will be some lighter winds and low swell predicted for the start of next week for the offshore anglers. It has been quiet for the boat ramp and mostly Charter companies have been out there landing some great fish still in these conditions. https://www.facebook.com/smithysfishingcharters?fref=ts
Since it has been quiet through bad weather conditions the best offshore report I can give you is from when the weather was good.
When the weather was calmer the hotspots for offshore boaties were at most of the marks. The ones to note were Coolum, North end Barwon Banks and Caloundra Wide all producing a fantastic variety of fish. A few solid Amber Jack, Snapper, Pearlies, Tusk Fish and many more were all boated out in those wider reef marks. The inner reefs kept everyone really entertained with Snapper and Pearlies. Most boats that did head out got their quota. The cooler weather is here and that means so are the squid. Dangling a jig over the side while fishing for your reef fish has worked a treat for most boats picking up a couple each trip.
With offshore being so quiet the last fortnight land based fishing has taken off a bit. The big winter Bream has hit the Mooloolah River and is only going to get better. The recent rain has encouraged the Bream to feed and the sizes of them are improving. Best location to land these bigger ones are around the mouth, boat ramp, canals and the trawlers. Chook gut, Mullet Gut, Prawns and strip baits are working a real treat. The Mooloolah River is still seeing a consistent catch rate of flathead and whiting. The Basin is holding the most at present. There is a very small run of Taylor just hitting Caloundra at the moment so we should see some up along Buddina and Pt Cartwright shortly. There have been some reports of isolated catches off the river mouth. Strip baits and small baby Pilchards are the best baits used to catch the glorious sports fish. The beaches have been quiet but when fished has produced some nice whiting and flathead. There are still some small Dart but let’s hope the Taylor come through shortly.
We now have a Youtube Channel so jump on and check some of the informative video’s we are
posting up. We would also consider adding any home video’s, of great action be it river, ocean or
beach. Please keep it PG. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiMyWsjGiFeTjRaWdTsQmnw
