We all know and love the ease of operation and dependability of electric steering sys- tems and fly-by-wire throttle controls, but the big news in the Helm Master EX line-up is the addition of an all- new Autopilot system and joystick control ca- pable of being paired
Stage one is the up- graded Digital Elec- tronic Control and CL5 Touchscreen display, with the option to add an electronic key switch and keyless remote.
The fourth and final stage adds the full-ma- noeuvrability joystick control system that pro- vides control over shift, throttle and steering parameters.
After scooting along at 50km/h for a few minutes, the system engaged Waypoint Ar- rival, which brought the boat down off the plane and into a fast idle speed for the final few hundred metres before kicking back the speed again closer to the mark and obviously reducing outboard noise (so as not to spook the fish!).

I’ve only scratched the surface of what Helm Master EX is capable of in this article, but after experiencing it first-hand, I can safely say it’s one of the most impressive boating in- novations I’ve seen.
