I myself will keep a cod from the dam to eat.
Still sitting at 14 per- cent capacity, the lo- cal green legends have been giving a lot of anglers thrills at the sight of them breach- ing the water’s surface when caught.
In the evening, we head out at 6pm and fish through to 8:30pm using swimbaits.
Particularly when I wish to eat fresh fish, not frozen then de- frosted fish from over- seas and purchased from the bigger shops in town.
Once you arrive at your selected site, main fishing times are from 5.30am and most of the catch is from 6am to 9.30am.
We’ve found these times and setups are best for successful catches.
I must admit I love smoked haddock and it’s a good standby, es- pecially with a slab of butter on top.
As it’s catch and re- lease, closed hooks are used, which is the correct way to fish if you’re a catch and re- lease angler.
