Feel the Mercury Edge at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo

IT’S the ideal way to check out the new Mercury Edge engine – to experience it pushing you through the water.

And that’s exactly what visitors to this year’s Gold Coast International Marine Expo can enjoy at the Mercury Edge event. Mercury is going to have a fleet of 12 vessels in the water, each powered by the ideal Mercury engine, and everyone at the Expo is invited to go for a ride. Mercury general manager Will Sangster said, “We call it the Mercury Edge – it’s that special something that puts our engines ahead of the rest, and the best way to experience it is out on the water.”

“You can feel the power of the engines, hear how quiet they are, experience how clean they are, and watch how fuel efficient they are. “It’s that real-life experience you are never going to get in a showroom or on the internet. “You have to be out on the water.”

Mercury introduced the Mercury Edge at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo last year and it was a smashing success, with visitors lining up to feel, hear and see Mercury motors do their thing. Organising a dozen boats, engines and drivers and then running them almost non-stop is quite a commitment, but it reflects Mercury’s unwavering belief in its products.

“For example, anyone can talk about the quiet nature of a four-stroke matched with quality grunt and smooth steering but we want buyers to experience our engines first-hand,” Will said. “We’re eager to show them off. “So if you’re coming to this year’s Gold Coast International Marine Expo, make sure you visit the Mercury Edge.
