Fisheries Queensland is seeking your feedback on fishery reform options for recreational fishing in Queensland.
The management reforms for consideration are:
- Recreational fishing gear changes – banning Opera House-style traps, banning lightweight crab pots and new minimum gear specifications
- Size and possession limit changes and new closed season – separating possession limits for crimson and saddletail snapper and other considerations, new black jewfish closed season and increasing possession limits for black jewfish
- Expanding the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme
- Banning recreational take of coral.
