Improvements for better boating on the Sunshine Coast are planned for in the 2023-24 financial year.

Better boating Sunshine Coast

Boaties on the Sunshine Coast can rejoice over plans for a major upgrade to a public boat ramp and trailer parking at one of the region’s busiest waterways.

A smooth easy-access ramp and 36 car-trailer parks are planned at Outrigger Island, Minyama on the stunning Mooloolah River. The proposed new two-lane boat ramp, floating walkway and car-parking will take pressure off the popular Parkyn Parade and La Balsa Park boat ramps.

Boaties, fishos and water users are already familiar with the rough terrain and informal carpark at the much-loved Outrigger Park, so this upgrade will be a welcome addition.

Work is expected to start on better boating on the Sunshine Coast in the 2023–24 financial year.
