ISLAND Marine is happy to announce its latest partnership with ePropulsion Technology. EPropulsion Technology was founded in 2012 and is based in Hong Kong. The company is a new provider of clean outboard motors and is dedicated to manufacturing electric outboards with high performance and designing clean power solutions for boats.
Electric outboards aren’t new to the marketplace but they haven’t taken hold of the industry because of several major factors, mostly involving battery technology. Batteries have long been the downfall of electric outboards due to their weight, size and available run time. The ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 has eliminated these negative factors. The Spirit 1.0 comes with a lightweight, removable battery that weighs only 7.5kg once removed from the outboard.
Total weight of the outboard including battery is 16kg and run time at full throttle exceeds one hour or 9km. Applying just half throttle will dramatically increase run time to five hours or a 27km range. You’re able to easily monitor battery power through an intelligent integrated LCD display. This display shows all relevant information including battery voltage, current power, remaining battery capacity and remaining run time.
The Spirit 1.0 also meets the IP67 waterproof rating, so the motor can be completely submerged without causing damage.
