Going fishing made easier in NSW

Summer is a wonderful time of year for a family getaway or a fishing trip with friends, and DPI Fisheries is making it a little easier for you to find and explore fishy destinations.

Our free Go Fishing handbooks are packed full of useful information, with easy-to-read maps detailing popular local fishing locations, tips and techniques for common species plus rules, regulations and other relevant information. These handy print and online guides cover popular locations in both fresh and saltwater locations.

More great news is that the series has grown with a new guide, Wyangala Dam, near Cowra in the state’s central west. The new Wyangala Go Fishing guide is packed full of useful information, with a bonus feature on ‘bobbing’ for golden perch with bait and lures. It is ready for download on iPhone and Android, and will soon be available in hard-copy format from local fishing retailers and tourist centres.

There are now 20 of these guides available: Wyangala Dam, Burrinjuck Dam, Blowering Dam, Snowies Trout Waters, Lake Windamere, Lake St Clair, Burrendong Dam, Ulladulla, Botany Bay, Jervis Bay, St Georges Basin, Bermagui, Coffs Coast, Hawkesbury River, Tuross Head, Lake Macquarie, The Great Lakes, Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers Wharves and Parks, Middle and North Harbour Parks and Reserves and Sydney Harbour’s Wharves, Piers and Parks. If any or all of these info-packed guides are of interest, click here to check them out.

Feel free to let us know if there is a location or region you would like us to include in the Go Fishing series.

These DPI guides are yet another great example of your fishing fees at work.
