Speakers announced for Brisbane Boat Show

MARINE Queensland is excited to announce a huge roster of speakers and industry experts for the Keep Australia Fishing Stage at this year’s Brisbane Boat Show, from September 3-6 at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Proudly sponsored by Keep Australia Fishing, over the four days of the show the stage will see industry experts cover a huge range topics, including how to improve your fishing, the latest in Humminbird technology, local squid catching techniques, trolling for flathead, beach fishing, kayaking for barra and much more.

The stage will this year be hosted by the two larrikins of Queensland fishing, Jason Medcalf and Jason Ehrlich. Keen to share their infectious passion for fishing, the entertaining duo will also be bringing back their special Kids Fishing Show as part of the entertainment.

Also on stage will be local fishing legend Mathew Hubbard, who will share his expert tips on fishing in the Brisbane River, and Humminbird brand manager Justin Welsh who will reveal the latest innovations in Humminbird technology.

We’ll also be seeing live talks and demonstrations from leading industry experts Nigel Webster, Nigel Middleton, David Brace, Lachy Webster, Blake Ehrlich, Sean Conlon and Shane Beardmore.  Marine Queensland CEO Don Jones said, “We have lots of great speakers this year covering many interesting topics.”

“The fishing stage is always very popular and attracts huge crowds of all ages. “There will be something for the expert fisherman as well as shows for the young ones.”

Whether you’re a super-keen fisher, a boating fanatic or simply looking for a fun day out with the whole family, the 2015 Brisbane Boat Show is one to mark on your calendar. Tickets are on sale now, with an adult one-day ticket just $18 and children under 15 free when accompanied by an adult.

Two major prize opportunities are on offer this year.  By buying tickets online, guests will automatically go in the draw to win a nine-hour private reef charter for themselves and 11 mates thanks to Frenzy Charters.

Ticketholders will also have the chance to win a $5000 voucher to spend at the show by collecting and completing an entry form at the gate.  The prize will be drawn at 12pm Sunday on the Keep Australia Fishing Stage, which is upstairs in the Convention Centre Building. The winner must be available to get to the show on Sunday afternoon to spend the $5000 before close at 4pm.
