Cricketing legend, Merv Hughes, will also be appearing on stage on Saturday for Waeco, to talk all things outdoors.

The Eagers Holden Proving Ground offers visitors the chance to test drive the latest Holden Colorado and test their 4WDing skills behind the wheel on a variety of surfaces to simulate being off the beaten track, with training provided by 4WD Queensland. The proving ground will feature a compact rock segment, timber logs and an artificial steep hill for visitors to practice and learn how to use their 4WD to its maximum capability.

This year, the ever-exciting Action Arena is introducing some brand new acts never seen before at the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo. Watch on as rodeo expert Donal Hancock provides amazing horseback entertainment, or the talent of specially trained sheepdogs as they work a herd of sheep around the Arena. Bringing the high octane excitement to the Action Arena will be Mike Hatchers Motorcycle Club with quad bike gymkhana style racing at its very best, along with the Offroad Rush team flying over jumps and leaving the crowd in amazement.

Exciting new features at this year’s Show will be the merging of the Fishing Stage and Campfire Cooking Stage to create the all-encompassing Engel Catch and Cook Stage, hosted by AFL legend Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt from TV Show The Great Australian Doorstep. This feature will teach you not only some fantastic tips and tricks to master the art of angling, but also how to cook your catch and other delicious recipes to try next time you are on the road.

Also new to the Show this year is Base Camp, an interactive feature showcasing some key National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo exhibitors. Simulating a campground environment, Base Camp will allow Show visitors to “try on” the outback lifestyle and see how it fits. Introduce the little ones to camping in a fun and hassle-free setting while you take some time out at the event. Grab some tucker, sit around the campfire, listen to the bush balladeer and swap your best bush tales.
