Sea-Rod ‘Active Transom’ Provides the Ultimate On-water Access

FORMOSA Marine’s Sea-Rod brand has seen many developments over the past six months.

The latest and greatest design feature is the Sea-Rod ‘Active Transom’, which allows customers to design their ultimate access to the water.

Choose the access option you want for fishing, casting, diving or simply lounging on the water.

  • Full access – for the ultimate access Formosa Marine has designed a transom door and top deck that folds down to form the ideal transom platform.
  • Dual access – two folding transom doors on either side of the motor allow for dual access, which is ideal for diving adventures.
  • Single access – for the person who ‘wants it all’. One folding transom door (choose either side), plenty of storage and the ability to install optional extras such as a padded lounge or the newly designed bait tank and self-draining bait board.
  • Closed access – for the ultimate storage solution at the back of the boat, the closed access option gives you extra transom height, which is sometimes preferred for open water.

Sea-Rod is Formosa Marine’s water-ballast range of aluminium plate boats manufactured in Tingalpa, Brisbane. Since 1998, Formosa Marine has been building fully welded, quality plate boats designed for safety and performance on the water.

The Sea-Rod water-ballast range was introduced by Formosa Marine in 2011 to meet market demand for extra stability while at rest in the water.

The unique four-chamber water ballast system sitting away from the keel adds counterbalanced stability to an already stable boat. This means the boat sits lower in the water at rest and counterbalances side lean from swell or internal movement.

Sea-Rod boats are available in Offshore and Classic designs, with models from open boats to hard tops. The top of the range Sea-Rod Offshore includes self-draining decks, a standard feature not found on comparable boats. Be assured you’re safe with foam-filled hulls and excellent stability.

The Sea-Rod Classic boats are the more affordable option and the only plywood floor water-ballast boats on the market. Formosa’s V2 Hull was introduced this year and gives a sharper, more defined deadrise, increased floor cell structure, extra storage and new designs such as an aluminium bow roller.
