CONSTRUCTION of floating walkways at Cleveland at the William St, Cleveland boat ramp has commenced.
The project was funded by the former government and is being managed by Redland City Council.
Dr Robinson said the former government provided funding of $750,000 for the new boat ramp west of the Cleveland Volunteer Marine Rescue building and two floating pontoon walkways.
“The funding for the floating walkways was a part of the original allocation of funding to Redland City Council for the William St ramp,” he said.
“The former government invested over $1 million in marine infrastructure with the new ramp in Cleveland and the recent ramp resurfacing at Wellington Point.”
Dr Robinson said the boat ramps at William St are very popular, with tens of thousands of users every year.
“Construction of the floating pontoons will make for a better overall boating experience for Bayside boaties,” he said.
“The new boat ramp and pontoons are a win for thousands of Redlanders who access Moreton Bay for marine recreation and fishing.”
