2016 Gold Coast International Marine Expo in May

WHETHER you find your fun in the bush, on the beach or both, the Gold Coast International Marine Expo from May 19-22, 2016 will have everything to get you and your family out in the open air and on the water making memories.

The growing Expo at Coomera is much more than a massive marine showcase featuring hundreds of boats of all shapes and sizes both on the water and on land, it is the ultimate event for those who enjoy spending as much time as they can in the great outdoors. With everything from jet skis to kayaks, engines and accessories to fishing equipment and everything else in between, the Expo will feature hundreds of exhibits offering more for you to see, do and enjoy than ever before.

Event & Marketing manager Emma Brown confirmed a growing number of major marine businesses and brands have scheduled their world and Australian premieres exclusively for the biggest Expo ever in 2016.

“From large and luxurious motor and sailing yachts to Queensland’s biggest trailer boat line-up this year all the way through to lightweight tenders and even the latest water toys and fishing equipment, the Expo will have something for everyone,” she said.

“We will also have a wide selection of brokerage boats on display from some of the industry’s most-respected professionals, and we have substantially increased the number of Expo sea trial berths for people to try before they buy their new boats.”

The Expo’s exhibits will also showcase all the very latest in navigation and technology, spanning fishfinders and GPS/chartplotter units, night-vision cameras, underwater lighting, anchoring systems and water makers to name but a few.

“Expo 2016 will simply be an amazing experience for real outdoors enthusiasts – you will definitely need a multi-day pass to see everything on offer,” Mrs Brown said.

In addition to an incredibly diverse, hands-on marine showcase, fun family attractions as well as practical interactive and educational demonstrations will be staged every 15 minutes across the giant 3km Expo display circuit.

The action-packed Expo program includes fishing workshops, seminars exploring life beneath the water at the Yamaha Supertank, wholesale selections of offshore and estuary angling equipment and tackle and free sailing lessons for kids and adults. There will even be a special display from fishing fanatics/fashionistas and global sensations The Mad Hueys, who will attend their hometown Expo to sign autographs and take photographic opportunities with fans.

You will also see spectacular stunt shows on land, water and even in the air, with breathtaking displays by the Royal Australian Air Force’s elite formation aerobatic display team, the Roulettes.

Expo chairman Brett Thurley said it was part of the Expo charter to inspire more people to enjoy the rich and rewarding boating lifestyle and at the same time foster jobs, growth and opportunities in the broader Australian marine industry.

“People love coming here to Australia’s boating capital and they love being a part of the Expo – they are inspired by the fact the Expo has both big boats and small boats and a vast array of equipment and accessory displays,” he said.

“Nowhere else in the world is there a boat show held right in the heart of the biggest boat-building facilities and recreational shipyards in the country, where visitors can experience factory tours of the biggest boat-building facilities in the southern hemisphere.”

The Expo – staged right in the heart of the Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera – is the best place to buy a boat or boating equipment, with hundreds of exhibitors in the one location keen for your business.

Having been named Best Exhibition at the 2015 Australian Event Awards, the Expo is now recognised as a major event on the national marine industry calendar. You could also win the ultimate boating package worth over $40,000 including everything you need to get out on the water making memories.
