HyDrive Wins Australian Export Performance Award 2016

THE Australian Marine Industry has recognised Australian manufacturer HyDrive Engineering’s export performance at the Annual Marine Export, Superyacht and Commercial Marine Awards Gala Presentation at Sanctuary Cove.

Australian International Marine Export Group received the highest number of entries in the awards’ 17-year history across all categories.

AIMEX CEO Maryanne Edwards said the entries were of such high calibre this year that several High Commendations were awarded.

HyDrive won Best Marine Industry Export Performance in 2015 (Medium Exporter), with an increase in export sales of over 20 percent on the previous year in spite of difficult worldwide economic conditions.

HyDrive Engineering has been exporting hydraulic steering systems since the early 1970s.

General manager Grahame Anderson said, “To win this recognition from AIMEX in this category in this current economic climate is especially satisfying.”

“We have a widespread customer base in over 25 countries and in order to weather the higher Australian dollar and GFC meant revising manufacturing methods, investing in research and development of new designs while maintaining our reputation for superior quality and performance.

“Our philosophy and focus on quality has ensured our survival as a world leader in marine manufacturing of hydraulic and electronic steering systems for smaller powerboats to superyachts.”
