NSW Fisheries volunteers

NSW Fisheries would like to say a HUGE thanks to all their amazing volunteers, past and present.

NSW Fisheries volunteers

Thank you for the great work that you do across the state to help promote sustainable and responsible recreational fishing through fishing workshops, events and in school education. We would not be able to do what we do without you! NSW Fisheries

The DPI Fishcare program is one of the most successful volunteer programs in NSW and is central to the success of many of our recreational fishing education programs. Volunteers range in age from students to retirees, and come from a great variety of backgrounds and are expected to give approximately one day per month to assist the program. All volunteers are issued with clear identification as well as a distinctive hat, shirt and backpack containing the necessary documentation.

A Fishcare Volunteer is expected to adhere to the Public Code of Conduct and statement of principles.

You’ll be involved in helping create better awareness among anglers and the wider community about fishing issues, but you won’t have enforcement powers.

If you’re passionate about sustainable fishing, meeting other like-minded people and fostering our fishers of the future, and would like to volunteer your time to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Check out the link here.

Our volunteer program assists with building a healthy future in NSW for future generations to enjoy and appreciate.
