AUSTRALIAN boating favourite Quintrex has relaunched its Yellowfin range of offshore plate boats with a new design and identity.
The new range is made up of eight models: 5800, 6200, 6700 and 7400, all available with a hard or soft top. These Yellowfin models are so tough that they now come complete with their own ‘Body Armour’.
The 6200, 6700 and 7400 feature 6mm plate bottom sheets (5mm for the 5800), 5mm transom material and 4mm side sheets, meaning they are built strongly for the ultimate protection from the elements. A completely new hull design including a variable deadrise to 19 degrees at the transom and 730mm of freeboard gives the models the strength to tackle the toughest of conditions. Construction-wise, the Yellowfin range features a fully welded checker plate floor with box section floor frame offering extra strength.
The ‘Marine Core’ construction ensures that strength truly does come from within, with a sub-frame rib structure of longitudinal and latitudinal ribs made of 6mm vertical stringers and 5mm horizontal ribs. The self-draining floor features a no-return scupper drainage system, which gives you the ultimate peace of mind when fishing in rough weather. A rear catchment area guides water out to a lower chamber to drain out through the scupper system so you no longer need to rely on a bilge pump.
The newly designed full transom extends the waterline length, giving more lift and offering unbeatable stability and buoyancy. You can guarantee having the ultimate power because the new transom design also allows for larger outboards in both power and weight. The Evinrude G2 sits further back on the transom, which frees up space on the duckboard and provides plenty of room to move about as well as easy access to a berley bucket.
The Yellowfin range features basic floatation and is constructed with fuel and oil-resistant EPE foam for durability. As well as the upgrades to the construction, the new models have also received a facelift featuring a modern look complete with new Yellowfin decals, stripe design and updated logo. The colour range consists of metallic grey, navy blue, burgundy, black and white, all available as all-over colours.
The new models are fully equipped for reeling in trophy fish, with features such as 16 rod holders, berley bucket, 110-litre kill tank and new live bait tank in the back deck, complete with viewing window and external pick-up. Other new features include water deflectors on the side deck at cabin wings, fully welded alloy anchor well and new deck wash.
The new cabin layout features large cabin bunks ranging from 1.7m to 2m in length, which are complete with roto-moulded tub storage and a hardened glass cabin hatch all adding a little comfort to overnight fishing trips. All models feature a new bowsprit and a ‘Catch N Release’ mechanism for trailers as standard for easy boat retrieval. The all-new hard top cabin design features a Storm Shield hardened 6mm glass windscreen, sliding side windows with front opening and pantograph windscreen wipers as standard.
Specifically built for offshore conditions, the new hard top design also features a grab rail on the roof, five Reel Easy rod holders and a dash decked out with drink holders and fiddle rail. All models can be optioned up and personalised with features such as a drum winch, LED light kit, Esky and storage seat options and a cabin bunk in-fill.
Quintrex national account manager Cameron Wood said he is expecting exceptional sales on the new Yellowfin range. “The new look and features make Yellowfin top of its class amongst competitor brands and I am confident sales will skyrocket after the release of the new models,” he said. There is so much excitement about the new range amongst our Quintrex dealer network; Yellowfin will definitely be a big player at this year’s boat shows. With such an awesome design I can guarantee once you own a Yellowfin all your mates will want one.”
