Formosa Tomahawk X Bowrider a unique crossover

FISH, wake, ski – do it all with the new Tomahawk X Bowrider design; the latest upgrade option for the range of bowriders by Formosa Marine. Take the family out skiing or wake boarding one day and transform the X for offshore fishing the next.

Formosa Marine is an Australian aluminium plate boat manufacturer known for quality, safety and performance, and the new X Bowrider upgrade is no exception. The huge number of features, large range of optional extras and great value for money allow every customer to customise their boat to suit. Features on the X Bowrider uniquely allow for the perfect crossover boat.

It has a raised dash for an improved offshore seating position, unique multi-function rocket launcher, folding seats with flush fold-away design and cushioned bow seating with storage that converts easily into the ideal fishing platform. Designed by Formosa Marine, the X Bowrider’s rocket launcher is something that has never been seen before on a plate alloy boat.

Welded for strength and stability, it features a fold-down design for storing the boat undercover. Fully welded onto the launcher are three grab rails, four rod holders and a ski/wake pole. The unique ‘knuckle’ design features exposed perforated aluminium plate on the outside, and inside is the perfect housing for speakers.

Other features include the new folding side seats, which Formosa Marine has introduced as an optional extra across the range. The X Bowrider has two side seats as standard and an optional third folding back seat. It’s a very practical setup, sitting low for safety and allowing seating for up to six people. All fold away to enhance the generous freeboard Formosa Marine is known for.

The Bowrider design has cushioned seating forward, which can be converted to the ultimate fishing platform.

This area includes huge storage underneath and an optional centre board can be inserted to extend the fishing platform across the front. Formosa Marine has always offered a large range of bowriders, from the Classic 520 to the Offshore 660 for a total of eight models.

Now the X Bowrider upgrade is available on sizes 580, 620 and 660. Formosa Marine this year rolled out the new V2 Hull design, offering enhanced performance and strength with a sharper deadrise of 18.5 degrees giving a softer ride, improved trim range, particularly in turns, and extra floor structure for a solid under-footing.

Other value-added features on the V2 Hull include a new Formosa Marine-designed alloy bow roller to suit manual and drum winch applications, a new tow-catch design for quick boat release on suitable trailers and extra side pockets for additional storage. Since 1998, it has been Formosa Marine’s mission to advance its boats to handle the Australian environment yet keep them affordable without skimping on quality and strength.

Recent new models include the 480 Offshore and larger 7m boats. New and improved optional extras have been added to the long list. Now available on sizes 580 and over in Centre Cabin and Half Cabin is a new enclosed hard top with glass and sliding side windows. Formosa Marine has supplied quality plate boats to Australian Marine Centre since its inception.
