THE Logan and Albert Fish Management Association Stocking Group Fundraising Committee is fundraising to stock the newly completed Wyaralong Dam with both Australian bass and Mary River cod fingerlings.
You may have heard of our past efforts, as previously our group was called Carpbusters. Our name has changed, but the mission of our organisation remains the same, and that is to educate members of the public on issues, concerns and fishing techniques, together with participation in fish stocking activities.
We are a volunteer, not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to creating a recreational fishery within Wyaralong Dam and improving the Logan and Albert rivers. Though we now receive some funding from the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme for Wyaralong Dam, the majority of money to buy fingerlings must be raised through events such as our old Carpbuster pest fish eradication competitions, which ran for four years. Money raised was used to buy native fish fingerlings such as Australian bass and Mary River cod for release into the Logan and Albert river systems.
Under our new name, we will be conducting a carp and tilapia eradication competition at Wyaralong Dam on March 24, 2018. This competition will see competitors fishing from kayaks, canoes and boats with electric motors as well as from the bank.

We hope to see you there.
